There are many ways to define what makes a church beautiful. So, we asked our readers.
This month, we wanted to know which church in Livingston County is known for taking your breath away. Are residents drawn to vibrant stained-glass windows and high ceilings, or full pews and simple murals?
We asked the community for nominations and compiled the results into a poll.
The clear winner was St. Patrick Catholic Church at 711 Rickett Road in Brighton, which earned 40.36% of the vote.
The church draws crowds for mass, confirmations, baptisms, weddings and other important life events. Walking through the doors, visitors are met with a grand mural filled with symbolism.
A large crucifix hangs above the church’s altar, pressed against a vibrant blue backdrop. Upward is a mural depicting heaven, and a shining light that shows the Holy Spirit.
The church completed a major interior renovation in 2023. The project began as a way to renovate pews and kneelers, but turned into something more.
