Officials seeking tips about Clinton County chicken dumpers

ST. JOHNS — Authorities are investigating a chicken-dumping incident in Clinton County.

Clinton County Animal Control is asking for information about five roosters that were “dumped near the gravel pit on Howe Rd.,” officials said in a June 29 news release.

“These animals were abandoned and left to fend for themselves,” the release said. “They are now safe and currently being cared for at CCAC.”

Abandoning animals is not only illegal, it’s inhumane, officials said. They did not say how or when the chickens were found.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation is asked to call animal control at (989) 224-5116.
