A high-end, in-state tight end prospect is set to announce his decision later this week, with the Spartans reportedly in the mix.
Jason Killop of On3 reported on Wednesday that Anthony Cartwright of Franklin, Mich. will announce his college decision on Sunday. Per a report from Killop, Cartwright will decide between Michigan State, Michigan, LSU, Miami (FL) and Oregon.
Cartwright is listed as a four-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 89.33 in 247Sports’ composite system. He ranks as the No. 20 tight end and No. 8 player from Michigan in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2027 class.
Michigan State had Cartwright on campus for an official visit in late May, according to 247Sports. He also has taken official visits to LSU, Stanford, Miami (FL) and Oregon, so he’s essentially visited each of his finalists. At this time, there are no leads on which way he’ll go based on 247Sports, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a tell in the next few days. We will have to continue to monitor his recruitment for any potential updates prior to the big announcement on Sunday.
