'Motor City' movie poster shows Alan Ritchson in action-star overdrive

The new poster for the upcoming film “Motor City” promises action and violence galore, with guns blazing and foot stomping.

The promotional art for the July 24, 2026 release shows “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson filling most of the space as his right hand holds a firearm hooting flames from its barrel and his right foot kicks into the film’s title with 3D force.

“Love will drive you mad,” reads the tiny copy to the right of Ritchson’s torso the flashy, retro-pulp illustration.

Directed by Potsy Ponciroli and also starring Shailene Woodley, Pablo Schreiber, Ben Foster, and Ben McKenzie, the movie takes place in 1970s Detroit and centers on Ritchson’s character, who is framed by a mobster (who’s in love with Ritchson’s girlfriend) and comes home from prison seeking revenge.

The action film, which had its world premiere in 2025 at the Venice Film Festival, made news for its nearly total lack of dialogue. The score, dotted with rock classics like Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain,” was curated by Detroit’s own Jack White.

The Toronto International Film Festival has described “Motor City” as “a cinematic symphony of muscle cars, gunfire, and heartbreak.”

And the poster? Well, it’s clearly trying to tell the poster from Eminem’s “8 Mile” to “hold my beer.”
