Michigan football recruiting is heating up in a big way, with the Wolverines having picked up their eighth commitment on Wednesday, when 2027 Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell pledging to the class.
And the good news keeps coming.
Very few had connected the maize and blue to 2027 Houston (Tx.) South four-star defensive tackle Xavier Muhammad to Michigan football, with many other schools appearing to be in the driver’s seat. If nothing else, Michigan was a bit of an afterthought. However, Muhammad ended up committing to the Wolverines on Thursday.
Muhammad is a tri-sport athlete who comes in at 6-foot-3, 265 pounds. He’s rated highest by Rivals at No. 88 overall, the eighth-best defensive lineman, and the 13th-ranked player in the state of Texas.
He was originally slated to make his commitment in July.
