If you recently bought dark chocolate almonds at Meijer in Michigan, beware there could be cashews in your product.
Meijer is recalling some of its Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds packages because they contain cashews not declared on the label, according to a June 16 U.S. Food and Drug Administration notice. The company is offering a full refund for the product to anyone allergic or sensitive to cashews.

Why did Meijer issue the recall?
Meijer is recalling the product due to an undisclosed allergen, per the FDA notice. Product labels don’t declare that the products contain cashews, a known allergen.
Which dark chocolate almonds are under recall?
Certain packages of Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds sold at Meijer are being recalled.
The recalled products include 12-ounce black stand-up pouches with sell-by dates of May 7, 2026, and May 28, 2026, per the recall notice. Some were in 8-count, 1.5-ounce multi-pack boxes with a sell-by date of May 5, 2026.

Meijer hasn’t received reports of any illnesses in connection with the recall, the FDA notice says.
