Local columnist predicts Spartans to reach bowl game, upset rival in season predictions

Will Michigan State football turn some heads and get back on the national scale this fall? Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal is expecting that to be the case based on his recently released game-by-game predictions for the Spartans this season.

Like many who follow the Spartans, Couch has his thoughts on how the season will play out — which apparently is pretty good. Michigan State opens the 2025 season on Friday in a home matchup against Western Michigan. Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on FS1.
