VEVAY TWP. — A Leslie motorcyclist was hospitalized June 19 with critical injuries after his bike crashed into a vehicle along Hull Road in Vevay Township, south of Mason.
The Leslie man, 62, was not wearing a helmet and witnesses have said “speed was a factor,” said the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office in a release.
An 86-year-old Mason man was travelling south at about 7 p.m. on Hull Road, which runs parallel with U.S. 127, and went to turn left into a private drive near Coy Road when his vehicle crashed with the northbound motorcycle.
“The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital by ambulance for critical injuries,” ICSO said. “The Mason man was treated for minor injuries from airbag deployment.”
The Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Kevin Stalzer at 517-676-8444, ext. 1939.
