Kaleb Glenn is done for the season before he could ever suit up in a game for the 2025-26 Michigan State basketball team.
Glenn, a transfer from Florida Atlantic, injured his right knee Monday, June 16, during a non-contact workout with the team, the Spartans announced Wednesday, June 18. He is out for the season and expected to redshirt next season.
He will have surgery on his injured knee Thursday, June 19, in East Lansing.
“I feel terrible for Kaleb and for his family but we will be with them throughout this process,” MSU coach Tom Izzo said in a statement Wednesday. “It’s awful that this happened just a couple of weeks after he got here in East Lansing and was working out with the guys and getting to know them.”
Glenn, who began his college career at Louisville in 2023-24, has two years of eligibility remaining. A 6-foot-6, 200-pound wing, he was second-team all-league in the American Athletic Conference, averaging 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 25.8 minutes while coming off the bench for 29 of his 34 games with the Owls last season. He shot 41% from 3-point range on 117 attempts, bringing needed perimeter scoring and length to Izzo’s team.
“In just a short time with us since he committed, we have really enjoyed having him and his family as part of our program,” Izzo said. “We’re going to do everything that we can to support him and get him back on the floor.”
Glenn was rated the No. 75 player overall in the 2023 class, according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, and was an AAU teammate of MSU point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. with the Indy Heat. Glenn transferred to La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, for his senior season.
