Is Cade Cunningham playing today? Pistons vs Timberwolves prediction, injuries

MINNEAPOLIS − The Detroit Pistons remain sharp late in the season even without Cade Cunningham, clinching their first Central Division title in nearly 20 years with Tuesday’s win over the Toronto Raptors. With six games left, they’ll look to keep their foot on the gas.

They host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, April 2. It’s their second game against the Wolves within a week, after defeating them on the road last Saturday with superstar guard Anthony Edwards sidelined, 109-87.

The Pistons’ magic number to clinch the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs is two over the second-place Boston Celtics.

The Timberwolves catch the Pistons without Cade Cunningham, who suffered a collapsed lung injury and will miss his ninth straight game. The Pistons are 7-2 without him. Daniss Jenkins, the former two-way player, will again start at point guard.

Pistons All-Star center Jalen Duren has been dominant in 21 games since returning from a two-game suspension, averaging 23.4 points on 67.5% shooting with 11 rebounds.

The Pistons remain down standout backup Isaiah Stewart (calf) for an eleventh straight game.

Superstar guard Anthony Edwards (right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome) is questionable for Minnesota.

Here’s how and what to watch for in tonight’s Pistons vs. Timberwolves game, including the TV channel, streaming link, the lineups, injury report and betting odds.

Is Cade Cunningham playing today?

No. The Pistons’ superstar remains out after suffering a collapsed lung and is set to be reevaluated next week.

Pistons vs Timberwolves prediction

Omari Sankofa II, Detroit Free Press: Anthony Edwards potentially will be back for the Wolves after missing last week’s contest in Minnesota, which the Pistons dominated in a 109-87 win. Even without Cunningham, this Pistons team has continued to problem solve and compete against opposing playoff teams. This one will be closer, but I like their chances. The pick: Pistons 117, Wolves 112.
