Here's the Cheboygan area's top sports performers for April 28-29

Baseball, softball and soccer have been off and running in the Cheboygan area for a while now, but we’re also starting to get deep into the heart of track and field season.

Many Cheboygan-area athletes delivered high-caliber performances at track meets that took place in Boyne City, Rudyard and Mancelona on Tuesday, April 28.

Led by those track and field athletes and teams, here’s the area’s top performers for April 28-29.  

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD  

4X100 Relay, Inland Lakes – The team of Faith Lehre, Chloe Robinson, Josie Cooper and Kaylee Taglauer finished first (54.83) at the Boyne City Invitational on April 28.  

4X400 Relay, Inland Lakes – The team of Kaylee Taglauer, Mackenzie Biesel, Josephine Furman and Faith Lehre placed first (4:27.66) at the Boyne City invite.  

4X800 Relay, Inland Lakes – The team of Addyson Price, Addison Byrne, Josephine Furman and Mackenzie Biesel captured first (11:42.39) at the Boyne City invite.  

Chloe Robinson, Inland Lakes – Claimed second in the high jump (4-8) and fifth in the shot put (28-3.75) at the Boyne City invite.

Lillyann Cooksey, Onaway – Finished second in the 100 (14.02), 200 (30.20) and long jump (13-6.75), while also placing fourth in the 400 (1:13.01) at the Mancelona Invitational on April 28.  

Alexis Haney, Onaway – Earned fourth in the 100 hurdles (20.94) and 300 hurdles (1:01.65) at the Mancelona invite.
