Detroit — Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres left Saturday’s game in the fourth inning, replaced by rookie Hao-Yu Lee.
The Tigers announced that Torres left with tightness in his left side. He was being evaluated during the game.
In the first inning, Torres was thrown out at the plate trying to score from second on a base hit by Riley Greene. He stayed in the game and delivered an RBI single in the second inning.
But Lee was in the game at second base at the start of the fourth.
The Tigers already have infielders Zach McKinstry (hip/abdomen) and Javier Báez (ankle) on the injured list.
