Dairy Queen armed robbery suspect heads to circuit court

A suspect in an armed robbery at Hamburg Township’s Dairy Queen Grill & Chill in September 2025 was bound over to Livingston County’s 44th Circuit Court in June.

Travell Rogers, 37, of Illinois, is facing two felony counts of armed robbery. He was arraigned in 53rd District Court in March and bound over June 10.

Rogers is now scheduled for a pretrial hearing July 10 before Judge Matthew McGivney.

According to a release issued by the Hamburg Township Public Safety on March 25, a second suspect in the robbery remains at large “and is actively being sought by federal authorities.”

The robbery took place in the evening hours Sept. 17 at 6450 E. M-36, according to police, when a suspect wearing a mask and gloves entered the business, produced a handgun and held three employees at gunpoint. He stole money and other personal items, officials said.

While no one was shot, the suspect punched two employees during the robbery and fled on foot. The injured staff members were taken to the hospital by Livingston County EMS. It wasn’t immediately clear how the second suspect was involved.

Officers worked with multiple state and federal law enforcement agencies before submitting warrant requests for two suspects — both residents of Illinois — to the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office, which authorized felony charges of armed robbery Dec. 29.
