An immersive sports and entertainment venue, Cosm Detroit is set to host its first public events on Sept. 10.
The high-tech venue will show the San Francisco 49ers game against the Los Angeles Rams from Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. A “shared reality” showing of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” kicks off Sept 10 as well, with several other showings in September.
The entertainment destination has full-service food and beverages. During the “Harry Potter” shows, there will be a themed menu with bottled Butterbeer, shepherd’s pie, pretzel “wand” with cheese dip, chocolate frogs, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.
Other NFL games will be shown on Sept. 13, and the Detroit Lions game against the Buffalo Bills will be shown on Sept. 17. “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “The Matrix” will also be shown in September.
The 70,000-square-foot venue is three levels and has an 87-foot-diameter LED dome for immersive viewing of sports games and films. There’s also a wall-to-wall sportsbook-like LED display in the Hall and a rooftop deck overlooking downtown Detroit.
Ticket prices depend on your level of service, with general admission or lounge-like booths with in-seat service. Once tickets go on sale, they can be purchased at cosm.com.
Cosm Detroit is at 25 Cadillac Square just outside of Campus Martius. Anchoring Bedrock’s Development at Cadillac Square, this Cosm is one of a few across the country in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and soon Cleveland.
