College football rankings: Big Ten teams in preseason Coaches, AP polls

There’s less than two weeks before college football kicks off with Week 0 action.

That means both the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll have both released their respective top 25 rankings heading into the 2025 season.

In the Coaches Poll, which released Aug. 4, Texas led the way with its first preseason No. 1 selection in program history after falling in the College Football Playoff semifinals last season. Behind the Longhorns is Ohio State, the defending national champions which host Texas in Week 1.

Five Big Ten teams were included in the AP Top 25 poll, which ranks behind the SEC (10) and tied-for second with the Big 12 among all conferences.

Here’s a look at where Big Ten teams were ranked in both the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll.
