Does Tom Izzo and Michigan State have another future NBA star on their hands this season? One prominent Big Ten analyst believes that could be the case.
Rapheal Davis of the Big Ten Network had some high praise for Spartans incoming guard Jasiah Jervis, stating he is the best “2 guard” out of high school for Michigan State since Gary Harris. As far as Michigan State basketball players go, that’s a pretty darn high honor to receive.
Jervis comes to Michigan State with a ton of expectations as yet another McDonald’s All-American to play for Izzo. Jervis was just below a five-star rating, ranking as the No. 32 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite system. He also ranks as the No. 6 shooting guard in the class.
Jervis is expected to contend for a starting spot right away at Michigan State this fall. It’s unclear at this time if he’ll be starting or being one of the top reserves off the bench, but it’s at least very clear that Davis is expecting big things from him during his collegiate career. If he can be as good as Harris was in college, then Michigan State will be very much live for a national championship this season.
