One of the Spartans upcoming opponents has lost a key player to a longterm injury.
Ohio State will be without one of their star guards for an extended period of time, as John Mobley Jr. has been ruled out indefinitely with a hand injury. Mobley Jr. suffered the hand injury earlier this week in a game against USC.
Mobley Jr. is the Buckeyes’ second-leading scorer at 15.1 points per game. He had started all 24 games he played in for the Buckeyes this season, and was shooting 40 percent from three-point range.
The news of Mobley Jr.’s injury is notable for the Spartans because Michigan State is set to host Ohio State next week. The Spartans will play the Buckeyes on Sunday from the Breslin Center. So the loss of Mobley Jr. certainly will impact the Buckeyes’ chances of upsetting Michigan State next week.
