The Albion Department of Public Safety is looking for help from the community in a shooting investigation.
Officers heard several gunshots coming from the northwest part of Albion near West Broadwell Street shortly after 1:15 a.m. Friday, July 4, the department said in a social media post.
Several shell casings were found in the 500/600 block of West Broadwell Street.
At 01:22 a.m., officers were dispatched to Boyd Drive where they located a vehicle that had been shot several times on West Broadwell Street.
Shortly after 2 a.m., officers were notified a 23-year-old Albion man had arrived at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson with one non-fatal gunshot wound to his leg.
“During this investigation, ADPS received very little cooperation, and we are seeking assistance with investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Lazarus at 517-629-7854 or Silent Observer at 517-629-2700,” the department said in the statement.
ADPS was assisted by Calhoun County-911, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police and the Jackson Police Department.
