Lansing police are investigating what they’ve called a homicide that took place Sunday morning, Feb. 8, on the city’s southwest side.
Police said a 53-year-old man was found dead in the 3900 block of Burneway Drive after officers were dispatched to a medical call at about 10:50 a.m.
“At this time, investigators believe the victim died from serious injuries,” Lansing police spokesperson Jordan Gulkis said in a release. “The Lansing Police Department is still investigating the exact cause of death.”
Police did not describe the injuries the victim suffered. LPD does not have anyone in custody, Gulkis said, and investigators are working to identify possible suspects.
“Additional information will be released as it becomes available,” the release said.
Burneway Drive is located off South Waverly Road, between West Holmes and West Jolly Roads.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lansing Police Department at 517-483-4600, Crime Stoppers at 517-483-7867, or send a private message through the Lansing Police Department’s Facebook page, police said.
