The Wisconsin Department of Resources is investigating a possible fall at Devil’s Lake Park, the department said in a July 21 emailed statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Sauk County Sheriff’s Office authorities said the DNR is handling the case since it’s in their jurisdiction.
No other information was immediately available.
This is the second incident in 2026 involving a person falling at the park. Thirty-year-old Baraboo climbing guide Audrie Pelosi died after a climbing incident on May 30. Another climber, 84-year-old Peter Cleveland, died Oct. 5 last year at the park after a rappelling accident while climbing with a group at the park’s west bluff.
