After three months of renovations, Kroger is celebrating a grand re-opening of the Brewers Yard store location in the Brewery District of downtown Columbus.
As part of the renovations, there will be a new section that features Black-owned brands from local suppliers, including skin, haircare and wellness products. The new section will be in the Drug and General Merchandise area of the store, in an endcap section at the end of an aisle.
The grand re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is on July 17 at the Brewers Yard location, 150 West Sycamore Street. The first 50 customers in line by 9 a.m. will receive a $10 gift card. The ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
“Our customers have been asking for these products for their everyday needs and it’s our responsibility to do right by them,” said Mark Bruce, Head of Communications and Public Affairs at Kroger’s Columbus Division. “We’re excited to be one of five locations in Columbus that offer this unique support for Black-owned local businesses.”
The $1.6 million renovations include the Black-owned brands and products section, new updates to the floral section and Murray’s Cheese and Dairy departments.
“We’re excited to have the Columbus community join us and experience their all-new and improved store on July 17,” said David Wisecarver, Brewers Yard Kroger store leader. “Shoppers will find various fresh updates, expanded selections and the same welcoming atmosphere their Kroger store is known for. We hope everyone can join us to celebrate this moment at their store.”
Store hours remain the same from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and pharmacy hours 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
