The Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks are engaged in a tremendous, hard-hitting rivalry, as the Rams’ potent offense and the Seahawks’ doomsday defense paved the way for some of the best NFL action in 2025. On the flipside of that narrative, the Seahawks’ offense and Rams’ defense told a tale of their own as they learned each other’s tactics inside and out.
Recently, Seahawks center Grey Zabel spoke to former Rams defensive lineman Chris Long on the “Green Light” podcast regarding those 2025 showdowns.
Zabel equated the trilogy to a heavyweight boxing match, stating that each game had its own narrative and that’s what made it so special. Zabel then spoke about his feelings about the team, displaying respect while recognizing the fierceness of the rivalry.
“I hate the Rams, but I love the Rams because it is mano a mano, best on best.” stated Zabel. “They know us well, we know them well, you’re just sitting there, and you’re just trying to win every single rep, but when they’re calling out plays, we can tell what they’re doing based off their defensive scheme, it’s fun football. That’s why you play the game. To play teams like that.”
Zabel also praised the Rams’ defensive line, claiming they’re “wicked good,” mentioning the Garrett trade that dominated headlines this offseason. Zabel said that he got the notification that the Rams added Myles Garrett while leaving a position group meeting, joking about their new foe, as they prepare to face the NFL’s sack king.
