ESPN ranked the top transfer portal additions and departures entering the 2026 season, with Florida appearing multiple times in both categories.
Auburn transfer wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. was heralded as one of the nation’s most valuable acquisitions, while Georgia Tech transfer quarterback Aaron Philo also cracked the list, denoting the influx of talent under new head coach Jon Sumrall.
Topping the list was wide receiver Cam Coleman, who transferred from Auburn to Texas, followed by quarterback Sam Levitt, who also joined the SEC, going from Arizona State to LSU. Rounding out the top three was offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, leaving Deion Sanders and Colorado to join Lane Kiffin at LSU.
Singleton Jr. came in at No. 41 while Philo was slated at No. 88. Departing Florida for Baylor was QB DJ Lagway, who was ranked No. 30, and Eugene Wilson III, ranked No. 81 for LSU.
“Philo has played extremely well in relief of King. Georgia Tech even paid above-market value to keep him in the program for the 2025 season. His stats are modest at best, but he got them through King’s injury issues in 2024 and played at a high level. He’s not the runner King was but is a very efficient and accurate passer,” said scout Tom Luginbill.
“Singleton was the No. 6 player in ESPN’s transfer top 100 last year after a successful two-year run at Georgia Tech, where he was a Freshman All-American who put up 1,468 receiving yards and 10 TDs and also a sprinter on the track team. Singleton is explosive off the line to get on top of defensive backs quickly and offers scheme flexibility to play inside and out or out of the backfield. He is dynamic with excellent hands and ball skills and can make the acrobatic catch routinely and tracks the deep ball extremely well,” says Big 12 writer Max Olson.
On the opposite side, ESPN noted that former five-star prospect DJ Lagway opted to exit Gainesville after two seasons. Lagway’s departure opens the door for Philo to compete for the reins of new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner’s system in year one in what many consider the SEC’s most consequential position battles. Lagway now takes his talents to Baylor.
“Lagway’s verbal commitment to Baylor makes a lot of sense. It’s his father’s alma mater and a program with a major need at QB1 to replace senior starter Sawyer Robertson, the nation’s second-leading passer. This next move is all about getting back on the right developmental path for Lagway after a rough year in Gainesville,” Olson goes on to say.
Former Florida pass catcher Eugene “Tre” Wilson III was mentioned as well. Wilson landed in Baton Rouge with LSU after leaving UF. Wilson was a former five-star commit for the Orange and Blue, coming out of high school as a Top-5 receiver in the 2023 class. His signing marked a major in-state recruiting win for Billy Napier, with Wilson choosing Florida over Georgia, Alabama and Texas A&M. After leading the team with six touchdown catches in 2023, injury-laden 2024 and 2025 seasons led to his exit.
ESPN illustrates Florida’s offseason through two lenses. The Gators lost two of the portal’s most significant outgoing players but gained two of the most highly-touted additions.
