A year and a half after AdventHealth Waterman first announced plans to expand its emergency care footprint into Fruitland Park, the much-anticipated free-standing emergency room is ready for patients.
When plans for the facility were first unveiled in early 2025, AdventHealth Waterman emphasized the need to bring 24/7 emergency care closer to home for residents in northwest Lake County. The completed project aims to deliver just that.
Where is it and when is it opening?
The new AdventHealth Fruitland Park ER, located at 201 County Road 466A, will officially open its doors to the community and begin caring for patients around the end of July.
An AdventHealth representative emailed the Daily Commercial to notify us that he was “just informed that the ER might not open on July 21. It might be towards the end of July,” he said.
What will the new ER feature?
The 14,000-square-foot facility features 12 patient rooms and is equipped to handle severe, life-threatening conditions just like a traditional hospital-based ER.
The facility offers a comprehensive clinical team, including board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses.
Along with emergency beds, the new Fruitland Park site houses on-site respiratory therapy, a full-service laboratory, and advanced imaging equipment, including CT, X-ray, and ultrasound technologies to ensure quick diagnoses and treatments.
“AdventHealth Waterman has cared for Lake County for nearly a century,” AdventHealth’s spokesperson said in an email to Daily Commercial.
“The new AdventHealth Fruitland Park ER continues that commitment by bringing 24/7 emergency care closer to home.”
