A local man was killed in a two-vehicle crash July 7 in Easton Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
ICSO wrote Earl Peterson Jr. — 75, of Belding — was driving south on Graff Road in a Toyota Tacoma when he was struck by an eastbound Dodge Ram 3500 coming down Bradford Road around 4:24 p.m.
First responders performed life-saving measures, but Peterson was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 20-year-old unidentified Belding man, was treated for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, though drugs and alcohol aren’t believed to be factors, pending toxicology results. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Deputy Jayson Tobar or Sgt. Conner Westerlund at 616-527-5737.
