Planning on taking Interstate 75 north this weekend? You’ll want to find another way.
All northbound lanes of I-75 through the Lockland Split will be closed through the weekend as construction crews work, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be detoured between Galbraith Road/Ronald Reagan Highway and Shepherd Lane.
The lanes are scheduled to close at 11 p.m. Friday, July 10 through 5 a.m. Monday, July 13, weather permitting. All restrictions will be lifted by 6 a.m.
Crews are working on rehabilitating the bridge which carries northbound lanes of the interstate over Mill Creek, a railroad, Benson Street and Shepherd Avenue, the transportation department said.
The $12.6 million project will repair bending cracks in the structural steel, zone paint under the expansion joints and complete other minor repairs to the bridge. The highway will also be resurfaced through the Lockland Split.
All work is scheduled to be completed in the fall of this year.
Just a few miles south on the interstate, crews continue to work on building a companion bridge next to the Brent Spence Bridge.
