Chargers DL depth chart: Who will make the 53-man roster?

Over the next few weeks ahead of training camp, I will continue to break down the depth chart for each Chargers position.

Next, I project what the defensive tackle room will look like heading into the 2026 season.

Teair Tart

After locking down a three-year extension this offseason, Tart returns as an anchor for the defensive line. Tart was a top-tier run defender last year, posting a 74.7 PFF run-defense grade. Expect his role to expand this season, moving him across the line to utilize his pass-rushing capabilities.

Dalvin Tomlinson

The Chargers signed Tomlinson to a one-year, $7.5 million contract this offseason. The veteran had a down year with the Cardinals in 2025, but he is a prime bounce-back candidate working under defensive line coach Mike Elston.

Jamaree Caldwell

The 2025 third-round draft pick enjoyed an incredibly productive rookie campaign, appearing in all 17 games. Caldwell was solid against the run, earning a 67.2 PFF run-defense grade.

Justin Eboigbe

After a quiet rookie year, Eboigbe had a massive sophomore breakout in 2025, racking up six sacks. Entering Year 3, he brings pass-rush juice to a room primarily populated by run-stuffers.

Nick Barrett

Selected out of South Carolina with the No. 145 pick in the fifth round, Barrett adds depth. Standing 6-foot-3 and 327 pounds, Barrett was a dominant run-stopper in college, ranking in the top 15 across the FBS with 25 run stops in 2025.
