The Village of Indiantown, which incorporated as a municipality in western Martin County on Dec. 31, 2017, has five council members. Three seats, each carrying a four-year term, are up for election in the August primary.
Winners will be decided Aug. 18.
There are three candidates, including the incumbent, for each of seats 3 and 4; and two candidates, including the incumbent for seat 5.
The newly seated council members will vote among themselves to select the mayor and vice mayor.
Village Council members are paid an annual stipend of $10,000. In addition to this base compensation, they are eligible to receive reimbursements and per diems for official business travel and conference attendance.
