Rams' skill players are best value in NFL based on this methodology

The Los Angeles Rams had the best offense in the NFL last season, leading the league in yards and points. Matthew Stafford was a big reason for the team’s success, but the Rams’ skill group at wide receiver, running back and tight end was unstoppable.

The good news is just about all of their playmakers are back. The only exception is Tutu Atwell, who signed with the Dolphins after seeing limited action last year despite his $10 million salary.

Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Kyren Williams, Colby Parkinson and Blake Corum are all still on the team and figure to be big parts of Los Angeles’ offensive attack. Bill Barnwell of ESPN ranked the Rams’ skill group as the second-best in the NFL, and compared to their combined salary, it’s the greatest value of any team, too.

The total salary of the Rams’ offensive playmakers ranks 23rd, making it a difference of 21 between their salary and ranking in Barnwell’s article. The next-closest teams are the Chargers and Bears, who have a difference of 12.

It’s an interesting way to look at how much the Rams are getting for their money at wide receiver, running back and tight end. It helps that Puka Nacua is still on a rookie deal, as are Blake Corum and Terrance Ferguson. But that will soon change when Nacua gets his well-earned raise this year or next.

Davante Adams inflates things significantly with his $22 million salary, but he’s also extremely valuable to the offense; he led the NFL with 14 touchdown catches in 14 games last season.

So long as Nacua, Adams and Williams can stay healthy, the Rams are once again going to put up huge numbers on offense.
