Golden State's Yaxel Lendeborg eyes a spot in the Warriors starting lineup

Following the 2026 NBA Draft, recent No. 11 overall pick Yaxel Lendeborg revealed his hopes to contribute to the Golden State’s rotation right away.

In a recent press conference, Lendeborg acknowledged that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr tends to rely less on his rookies; however, he hopes that can change with him. “He doesn’t normally play rookies as much. He has a history of that. But the way the team is looking right now, I’m going to have a really good chance to play, maybe even start,” said Lendeborg.

Although the Warriors have plenty of open roster spots left to fill, depending on their additions in the frontcourt, Lendeborg could very well start for the Warriors to begin the year. Working with veterans like Al Horford, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, Lendeborg has all the tools he needs to succeed as a rookie with Golden State.
