A lot has been made of Yaxel Lendeborg’s comments on rooting for Kyrie Irving over Stephen Curry in his youth. Curry even commented on the recent No. 11 overall pick’s social media post, saying, “I’m going to work hard to be your favorite player.”
The Warriors gave the new duo a chance to work on their relationship this summer, as Lendeborg revealed his locker is right next to Curry’s. Last year’s Big Ten Player of the Year is ready to work with the former two-time MVP, saying, “I know we got a lot of work to do to become best friends.”
Although Golden State has had higher draft picks in recent seasons (James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga), it’s safe to say that the entire organization is excited to see what Lendeborg can bring to the Bay Area.
