See who made El Paso Times 2026 All-City softball team

After a successful 2026 high school softball season for El Paso teams, the El Paso Times’ All-City team is set.

The list includes the Most Valuable Player, the Coach of the Year, and first-team, second-team, and honorable selections.

Player of the Year

Samantha Martinez, pitcher, Parkland

Of Note: Martinez was a major reason the Matadors won 32 games, earned a share of the District 2-5A title, and reached playoff matchups against Burges and Wichita Falls Memorial. She won 17 games in the circle. struck out 215 batters and had a   2.01 ERA. At the plate, she had 15 doubles, 13 home runs, 56 RBI and 64 runs scored.

Coach of the Year

Will Montano, Parkland

Of Note: Montano guided the Matadors to a share of the District 2-5A title and playoff wins vs. Burges and Wichita Falls Memorial. Overall, the Matadors won 32 games. The Matadors went the furthest of any El Paso teams in the playoffs.

First Team

Haley Rodriguez, pitcher, Socorro

Of Note: In the circle, she had 20 wins and 262 strikeouts. As a hitter, she hit .484 with 40 RBI and 46 hits.

Danielle Lozoya, infielder, Socorro

Of Note: Lozoya hit. 518 with 44 runs scored, 59 hits and 48 RBI.

Leilene Cardoza, infielder, Socorro

Of Note: She hit .482 with 53 hits and 44 RBI.

Jaedyne Armendariz, pitcher/outfielder, Chapin

Of Note: Armendariz won eight games in the circle and on offense, drove in 59 runs and scored 77 runs.

Remi Barron, pitcher/utility, Del Valle

Of Note: At the plate, she hit 578 with 53 RBI and as a pitcher, she pitched 86.2 innings with an ERA of 3.39.

Vivian Garcia, catcher, Eastwood

Of Note: She batted .533 with 57 hits, 70 RBI and 27runs scored.

Samara Escobedo, shortstop, Eastwood

Of Note: She hit. 535 on the season with 46 hits and 38 RBI.

Alexandra Rojas, utility, Eastlake

Of Note: Rojas had an on-base percentage of .448 with 17 stolen bases and 43 runs scored.

Iyana Fierro, infielder, Eastlake

Of Note: Fierro hit five home runs and drove in 46 runs.

Second Team

Andrea Salcedo, infielder, Del Valle

Of Note: Hit 20 homers at the plate and drove in 66 runs. As a pitcher, she had a 3.29 ERA.

Mia Dominguez, catcher, Socorro

Of Note: Dominguez scored 52 runs and drove in 38 runs.

Jazlyn Gardea, outfielder, Socorro

Of Note: Gardea hit .520 with 46 runs scored and 51 hits.

Cassidy Escobedo, infielder, Socorro

Of Note: She hit .479 with 50 RBI.

Mia Davis, pitcher, El Dorado

Of Note: Davis had a very good season in the circle with six wins and an ERA of 1.70. She helped lead the Aztecs to a bidistrict win in the Class 5A playoffs. As a hitter, she hit .305.

Zoe O’Hara, pitcher/infielder, Americas

Of Note: O’Hara hit .390 with 24 RBI and 18 extra base hits. In the circle, she won 12 games and struckout 126 batters.

Sarah Rodriguez, infielder, Parkland

Of Note: Rodriguez was solid at the plate with 12 homers and 59 RBI.

Giselle Alcala, outfielder/pitcher, Americas

Of Note: Alcala hit. 446 with six home runs and 49 RBI. In the circle, she won seven games with a 2.83 ERA.

Stephanie Flores, infielder, Parkland

Of Note: Flores hit .567 with 23 home runs and 78 RBI.

Honorable Mention

Faith Avila, catcher, Parkland

Of Note: Avila had 25 doubles and drove in 51 runs.

Emily Sanchez, catcher/infielder, Parkland

Of Note: Sanchez hit .434 with 14 doubles and 41 RBI.

Alyssa Pena, third base, Chapin

Of Note: Pena went 5-2 as a pitcher and at the plate, she hit 11 home runs.

Julianna Santos, pitcher/infielder, Del Valle

Of Note: Santos had a strong year at the plate with 10 homers and 49 RBI.

Samantha Ponce, utility, Eastlake

Of Note: She hit .421 wiuth 35 RBI.

Ayana Jaramillo, pitcher, Franklin

Of Note: As a hitter, she hit .540 and drove in 31 runs. As a pitcher, she had 87 strikeouts.

Layla Torres, shortstop, Pebble Hills

Of Note: Torres hit. 557 with 38 RBI, 73 hits and two home runs.

Cienna Hernandez, catcher/infielder, Ysleta

Of Note: Hernandez hit 10 home runs and drove in 48 runs.

Mandy Contreras, infielder/pitcher, Riverside

Of Note: She hit. 638 with 17 home runs and 70 RBI. She also scored 62 runs.

Grace Ponzio, catcher/infielder, Montwood

Of Note: She hit eight home runs, drove in 55 runs.

Jaeda Quinones, outfielder/infielder, Montwood

Of Note: Quinones hit 10 home runs, drove in 32 runs and had 31 stolen bases.

Camila De La Canal, catcher/first base, Eastlake

Of Note: Canal hit eight homers and drove in 45 runs.

Abeni Cuevas, catcher, Americas

Of Note: Cuevas hit .444 with 52 hits, 41 RBI and four home runs.

Emma Villarreal, pitcher, El Dorado

Of Note: As a pitcher had a 2.80 ERA and at the plate she hit .456 with four home runs.

Payton Booth, catcher, Del Valle

Of Note: Booth hit 10 home runs and drove in 57 runs.

Yaretzi Acosta, catcher, Chapin

Of Note: Acosta drove in 80 runs and hit .595.
