COLDWATER, MI — The Coldwater Farmers Market returns this weekend for its 12th season, bringing fresh local goods and weekly entertainment to downtown.
The market opens Saturday, June 27, and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week through Sept. 12. It will be located downtown at the northwest corner of the “Four Corners.”
Organizers say shoppers can expect a mix of returning favorites and new vendors this year. Opening-day entertainment will feature Russell Gates.
The Branch County Community Foundation will again provide reusable insulated shopping bags to market visitors.
“We’re looking forward to a great market again this year,” said market manager Kim Kohl. “We are sticking to our mission of providing Coldwater with high-quality, locally grown produce and increasing food access in the community. We’ve got a great variety of vendors — more than in the past.”
Vendors will offer a range of locally produced items, including fruits, vegetables, maple syrup, meat, eggs, dairy, flowers, plants, baked goods, and prepared foods. A limited number of non-food items — all locally made and not mass-produced — will also be available.
Applications remain open for both seasonal and drop-in vendors through the market’s website.
The market is supported by sponsors, including Coldwater Main Street/DDA, Coldwater Country Conference & Visitors Bureau, Burnside Center, Family Farm and Home, Clemens Food Group, HaasCaywood, Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Rose Lake Association, and Bentron Financial Group, along with in-kind support from the Branch County Community Foundation.
