Commitment: Texas lands 2027 four-star DL Tyler Alexander

The Texas Longhorns continue to roll in the 2027 recruiting cycle. UT has landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Tyler Alexander per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

This makes 17 commitments for Texas for the cycle. Alexander is the second defensive lineman to pledge to the Longhorns along with four-star Kasi Currie. They also have four-star edges Jabarrius Garror, Cameron Hall, Derwin Fields committed, giving them quite an impression haul in the trenches so far on defense.

Rivals industry rankings have Alexander listed as the nation’s No. 371 player and the No. 40 defensive lineman. The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder is the No. 34 prospect in the state of Florida as well.

Alexander had other top-tier programs in the mix for his commitment. However, Texas as able to beat out Georgia, Notre Dame, and Colorado.
