A Connecticut man who died after falling from a balcony during a concert at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night has been identified by New York City police.
Victim identified by police
The victim was identified as 51-year-old Paul Kueker of Niantic, Connecticut.
According to the New York Police Department, officers responded to Madison Square Garden shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, June 20, and found Kueker unconscious and unresponsive. Police said he suffered injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated surface.
Kueker was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Fall occurred during Goose concert
The incident happened during a concert by the band Goose, according to Madison Square Garden’s event schedule.
In a statement posted on social media, the band said it was “deeply saddened and heartbroken” by Kueker’s death.
“We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected,” the band said. “Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”
Investigation continues
The circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation.
Police have not released additional details about what led to the incident.
