Butterfly exhibit at Norma Johnson Center
Native Ohio butterflies can be viewed during the TuscParks’ annual butterfly exhibit July 9-19, at the Norma Johnson Center, 3645 Conservation Drive in Dover. Fran LeMasters with All A Flutter Butterflies will return with her enclosure. Chrysalis and caterpillar cups will be on sale so the life cycle can be observed at home.
A butterfly craft and face painting will be offered at not cost and addition crafts can be purchased. Attendees can hike the pollinator trail and see the plants that attract butterflies. Admission to the exhibit is free but donations will be accepted. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Dover Library offerings
● Environmental scientist Randi Pokladnik will talk about citizens concerns about data centers in their communities during Environmental Impacts of Hyperscale Data Centers at 6:30 p.m. July 8.
● As part of the library’s adult summer reading program, a potluck picnic will held at 11 a.m. July 9 at the picnic shelter located on the road to the city pool. Participants are asked to bring food to share. There will be a sticker scavenger hunt around the StoryWalk pond as well as other games. Plasticware, plates, napkins and water will be provided. ● Dana Martini from the Superior Clay Corp. will share the history of the clay industry in Tuscarawas County at 6:30 p.m. June 25.
● Paul Pernici from the Ohio Mushroom Society will present a program on the identification, ecology and uses of mushroom at 6:30 p.m. June 23.
Community dinners
Dinners a St. Peter’s Oldtown Valley Church are open to the community from 4:30 to 6 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month, January to October, for a donation.

See dinosaur fossils and artifacts
Explore dinosaur fossils and artifacts through the Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s mini museum at the Sugarcreek Branch Librasry from 10:30 to 2:30 p.m. June 26 during 60-minute sessions. Each session is limited to 30 attendees. Register at tusclibrary.org.
Blues For A Cure
The 15th annual Sean Carney’s Blues For A Cure 2026 – Harrison County will be June 26 (6 p.m. start) and June 27 (4 p.m. start) at The Mark at The Park stage at Sally Buffalo Park in Cadiz. The proceeds benefit WVU Harrison Community Hospital Foundation and the Harrison County Cancer Crusaders. This event is BYOB. Food, water and soda will be available for purchase from on-site food vendors. Bring lawn chairs, sun tents and blankets.

Car show in Strasburg
A car show will be from noon to 3 p.m. June 26 at the ProVia parking lot in Strasburg. Registration will be from from 10 a.m. to noon. The entry fee is $10. There will be music, food, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. For more information, visit https://tinyurl.com/dd5b9u83.
Health and wellness grant funding available
The Southeast Ohio Health and Wellness Foundation Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is accepting spring 2026 community grant applications through July 31. Funding requests should be from $500 to $5,000 with $25,000 total available. Non-profit and public organizations in Belmont, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Monroe, Muskingum, Noble and Tuscarawas counties may apply for projects and programs promoting health and wellness for community members of all ages. ● HARCATUS will meet at 1 p.m. June 24, at the First Church of the Nazarene Youth Building. The agency’s annual report will be released. Public comment is welcomed.

● The Tuscarawas County Law Library Resources Board will meet at 3 p.m. July 9, at the law library.
● Tuscarawas County Beekeepers will meet at noon July 11, at Dover Deis Hill Park, pavilion 2.
