RIPON – A police incident in the 500 block of South Douglas Street has been resolved, but officers remained at the scene Friday evening as they continued to investigate, according to the Ripon Police Department.
The department said in a 7:40 p.m. June 19 update that law enforcement personnel were still present in the area. Residents and community members were asked to continue avoiding South Douglas Street between East Fond du Lac Street, also known as State 23, and Jackson Street.
Police said people should use alternate routes until further notice.
The incident was isolated, and there was no immediate threat to the public, police said.
Earlier Friday, police had asked residents to avoid the area while officers responded to what the department described as an active incident in the 500 block of South Douglas Street.
The department said additional information would be released as it becomes available.
Updates are expected through the City of Ripon Police Department’s official communication channels.
