Florida State lands three-star WR from North Carolina

Florida State has been racking up commitments in the month of June, and they just got another one. Three-star wide receiver Majay Thompson committed to the Seminoles on Friday, announcing the news in a ceremony at his high school.

He is the No. 986 overall player in the country and the No. 136 wide receiver in Rivals industry rankings. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is the No. 32 prospect in North Carolina as well.

Thompson also had the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons trying to land his commitment. Once he took his official visit to Florida State on June 12, all the momentum swayed towards the guys in garnet and gold.

As a junior at Crest High School, Thompson showed he was a big-time playmaker. He racked up 53 receptions for 865 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 16.3 yards per catch. On special teams, Thompson also returned a punt for a score.

FSU now has 11 commitments in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Thompson is their second pledge from a wide receiver, joining four-star recruit Sean Green. They have four pledges from four-star prospects and seven three-star players have committed.
