To no surprise, Wisconsin Badgers star Caroline Harvey has been named IIHF’s Female Player of the Year.
Harvey beat out her former teammate, Laila Edwards, along with Marie-Philip Poulin in a landslide vote that saw the Wisconsin legend receive 77.3% of the votes. For what it’s worth, Taylor Heise and Megan Keller also received votes.
Nonetheless, Harvey, who had been nominated in both 2023 and 2025, finally cracked through and won the award. In the award’s young, four-year history, she accumulated a higher share of the vote than any past winner.
In total, more than 80 voters were involved. Harvey now joins fellow Wisconsin alumnus, Hilary Knight, as an IIHF Female Player of the Year award winner.
More impressively, Harvey won this award just a few hours before she was selected No. 1 overall in the 2026 PWHL Draft.
