Jaguars roster breakdown: Who's a lock, on the bubble at offensive line

With minicamp behind us, let’s break down the Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster through a different lens.

In this series, we will be going position-by-position and placing each player into one of three categories — are they a lock to make the team, likely to make the team, or on the bubble and fighting for a role?

What this exercise can do is help bring into focus how many roster spots are actually available this summer, along with highlighting who may be on the outside and looking in.

Up next is the offensive line unit.

Roster locks (8): Cole Van Lanen, Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Anton Harrison, Wyatt Milum, Jonah Monheim, Emmanuel Pregnon

There aren’t any surprises here. Listed is the Jaguars’ projected starting five, along with their recent draft picks along the offensive line that can provide depth at tackle, center, and guard.

More likely than not on the team (2): Walker Little, Chuma Edoga

If I were putting together an early roster prediction, I would have both Little and Edoga on the team. That said, I don’t think either is a 100% lock either. Little could be a trade candidate, but I don’t know that his contract is all that enticing for another team. With Milum and Pregnon, the Jaguars could feel comfortable moving on from Edoga, but there is no such thing as too much offensive line depth, and his ability to play both guard and tackle is valuable.

On the bubble (5): Jerome Carvin, Garrett DiGiorgio, Ricky Lee, Jimto Obidegwu, Trystan Colon

Given that there was no roster turnover this offseason along the offensive line, there doesn’t appear to be a roster spot up for grabs. These players may instead be competing for a spot on the practice squad.
