Beach Bash 2026 brings live music, fireworks to Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers

Beach Bash will return to Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers on June 26-27 with live music, carnival rides, games, food and fireworks. Proceeds will benefit local youth sports.

The event begins at 5 p.m. June 26 and continues from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. June 27 at Neshotah Beach, 500 Zlatnik Drive. A run/walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 27, with fireworks at dusk. Find more details at https://beachbashtr.com/.

Lakeshore College receives $10,000 Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant for adult education

Lakeshore College has received a $10,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to expand adult education and English language learner programming across its service area.

The college said the funding will support assessment tools, GED preparation, English instruction and workforce training, including certification testing for 24 incarcerated participants in its SERVSafe program.

PFLAG Manitowoc to host gender spectrum panel at Manitowoc Public Library on June 25

PFLAG Manitowoc will host “Exploring the Gender Spectrum: Terms, Stories and Lived Experiences” from 6 to 7:45 p.m. June 25 in the Balkansky Community Room at Manitowoc Public Library, 707 Quay St.

The all-ages program will include discussion of gender-related terms, personal stories and a community panel. Organizers say the event is open to the public.

Manitowoc County Historical Society offers free kids admission Thursdays in July

The Manitowoc County Historical Society will offer free general admission to children 12 and younger on Thursdays in July at its museum, 924 Pinecrest Road, Manitowoc.

Admission is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a limit of three free children per paid adult. Weekly hands-on themes run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Manitowoc County Historical Society Fish Fryday fundraiser set for July 10

The Manitowoc County Historical Society will hold its next Old Fashioned Fish Fryday fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. July 10 at the Meeme House, 924 Pinecrest Road, Manitowoc.

Dinner will be provided by Smiling Moose, Osman. Proceeds support the society’s operations. Advanced registration is suggested, and tram service will be available from the welcome center. For more information or to register, visit ManitowocCountyHistory.org or call 920-684-4445.

Ascend Services appoints Sheila Hansen to board of directors in Manitowoc

Ascend Services Inc. has appointed retired first-grade teacher Sheila Hansen to its board of directors.

Ascend said Hansen brings 34 years of teaching experience and plans to help develop social opportunities for adults with disabilities.

Bank First board member Stephen E. Johnson retires effective June 15

Bank First Corp. said Stephen E. Johnson retired from its board of directors effective June 15.

Johnson joined the board in 2019 and served on several committees, including audit, compensation, governance and nominating, loan, and community reinvestment.
