One dead after shooting on Columbus’ North Side, suspects at large

Columbus police homicide detectives say they believe a robbery involving “multiple individuals” led to a shooting on June 16 that left one person dead on the city’s North Side.

Officers responding at 10:09 p.m. to a report of a shooting on the 3600 block of Karl Road, where they found an adult suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at about 10:15 p.m., according to a news release from the Columbus Division of Police.

The victim hasn’t been identified pending notification of the family. The suspects are still at large, police said, though they did not identify who or how many.

Detectives are investigating surveillance from other businesses in the area in an effort to identify those responsible for the homicide.
