FSU-Georgia agree to location for neutral-site game

The FSU Seminoles and Georgia Bulldogs have reportedly agreed on a destination for their upcoming game. According to Warchant’s Ira Schoffel, the two will play in Nashville.

The two were set to play a home-and-home series, but they officially announced they were canceling it in May. The original plan was for FSU to host Georgia at Doak Campbell Stadium in 2027 before travelling to Athens in 2028. It is unclear when the game in Nashville will be played, but one source told Shoffel they will play in 2028.

“As we considered the effects of evolving scheduling mandates within both the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Southeastern Conference, we have mutually agreed that it is in the best interest of both schools to cancel our home-and-home series scheduled for 2027 and 2028,” FSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford said at the time of the cancellation. “We are now discussing playing a future neutral-site contest, and we are optimistic we will get that done. Importantly, this change will not reduce the total home games on our schedule moving forward.”

While neither team has revealed their official schedule for the 2027 or 2028 seasons, they both have several openings in 2028. According to FBSchedules.com, the Seminoles’ only scheduled game in 2028 is against the Florida Gators on Nov. 25, and Georgia’s only games are against the FAMU Rattlers on Sept. 9 and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Nov. 25.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 7-4-1, with the most recent matchup being the 2023 Orange Bowl. They have not played in the regular season since 1965.
