The shooting happened June 6 during the Old West End Festival. Investigators said two people exchanged gunfire following what police described in a press conference as a dispute between rival groups.

Toledo police alleged in a search warrant cited by WTOL-TV 11 that one of the shooters opened fire from the festival’s beer garden area while another person involved in the earlier confrontation returned fire.

During a June 10 news conference, police said three of the 12 people shot were involved in the dispute. The remaining nine victims were bystanders.

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said all 12 victims are expected to survive. As of June 10, nine had been released from the hospital.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
