A handful of recalls have been issued for several Ford models over previous repairs done incorrectly, leading to issues — including window and headlight malfunctions, gear problems, and a transmission clutch that could cause a fire.
Four recalls have been issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and impact more than 125,000 Ford vehicles including F-150, Ford Escape, Ford Focus and Ford Fusion. The recall numbers from the NHTSA are 26V373000, 26V374000, 26V375000 and 26V376000.

What’s the reason for the recalls?
The recalled 2015-2018 Focus and 2013-2016 Fusion vehicles have a clutch may fracture, resulting in damage to the transmission assembly and possibly a transmission fluid leak.
The recalled 2018 F-150 vehicles have a quickly moving the shift lever from Park to Drive that may cause a loss of gear indication on the instrument cluster display and a momentary selection of an unintended gear, such as Reverse or Neutral.
The recalled 2018-2020 F-150 vehicles have a headlight switch is turned from “Autolamps” to “Headlamps On,” the Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) may remain fully bright instead of dimming to parking lamps as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
The recalled 2017 Escape vehicles have power-operated windows may exert excessive force when encountering an object, before they automatically reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
What should you do if your car is included in the Ford recalls?
Owners who believe their cars might be involved in the recall can also search for their vehicle identification number (VIN) or enter their state and license plate number on NHTSA.gov to see whether their vehicles are included.
Anyone who has questions regarding their vehicle or their recall can call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
Owners of cars impacted by the recalls listed above will also receive a letter notifying them of the issue, which should be mailed by July 6, according to the NHTSA.
