Former college rivals often end up as teammates in the NFL, and sometimes tight connections form. That appears to be the case in the early going with former Notre Dame Fighting Irish star running back Jeremiyah Love and former Georgia Bulldogs/Miami (FL) Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck.
Both are now members of the Arizona Cardinals, and Beck is already sounding praise about Love.
“He’s just so talented and just a great guy as well. He’s super fun to be around and then you see him out there on the field just making plays,” Beck told podcast Cardinals Corner.
Beck was on the sidelines with an injury when Notre Dame beat Georgia 23-10 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl as the Irish advanced to the national championship game in 2024-2025. He started for Miami in 2025 as the Hurricanes beat Notre Dame 27-24 in the season opener in 2025. Beck was 20-of-30 for 205 yards and two touchdowns while Love got just 10 carries for 33 yards.
That Miami victory may have kept Notre Dame out of the 2025-2026 college football playoff, but now the two former rivals will be working together on the Cardinals’ offense. Love was drafted third overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Cardinals.
