Fixture Pizza Pub, 623 S. Second St, which suddenly closed last February, has reopened.
The restaurant, which specializes in “Milwaukee-style” pizza, was open for dinner June 6 and 7. Menus diners received included a message that read: “We are excited to reopen and welcome our loyal customers once again. Please enjoy our limited temporary menu for the next two weeks as we prepare to bring back our original full menu, soundtrack and familiar FXTR staff.”
The limited menu included their original pizzas, Caesar salad, eggplant fries and mozzarella sticks.
Fixture announced its closure without warning on Feb. 6, with paper signs covering its windows reading “closed.” Calls made to the restaurant went automated voicemail that said the restaurant is “closed until further notice.”
JD Commercial LLC, the company that owns Fixture, renewed its Class B Tavern, Public Entertainment Premises, and Food Dealer licenses on June 1. The City Clerk issued a provisional renewal license for the property the following day.
Joshua Taylor, who opened Fixture with his brother Jake in 2016, is listed as the registered agent of JD Commercial on the license applications.
Neither of the Taylor brothers have responded to phone calls or emails for comment, and Fixture has not posted updates to social media about the reopening.
At the time of the restaurant’s closing, public tax records showed that JD Commercial was behind on property taxes since 2022, owing about $100,795 total. It also had two delinquent unemployment tax warrants from July and September 2025 with a total of $14,051.
The city Treasurer’s office confirmed that JD Commercial has paid the outstanding balance of its property taxes in full as of May 2026.
As of June 8, JD Commercial has yet to pay the two delinquent unemployment tax warrants, according to Wisconsin Circuit Court online records. A construction lien from Schmidt Custom Floors, Inc. has also been filed against the property for $9,950.
