Donut Zone is opening in Fox Point this summer

A new donut shop and café is coming this summer to Fox Point’s Riverpoint Shopping Center at 8687 N. Port Washington Road.

The new shop, Donut Zone, has plans to open in mid June, according to application documents filed with the Village of Fox Point. It will sell donuts, kolaches, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and more. The business is primarily takeout oriented with limited indoor seating accommodations.

Business owner Bao Nguyen is leasing the space from the shopping center’s owner, Midland Management, LLC, according to village documents.

The roughly 1,400 square-foot space was previously occupied by a screen printing business called Fully Promoted.

The business received conditional use approval from the village’s plan commission June 1.

Donut Zone will be open from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The shop already has signage posted, according to the business’s social media posts.

Las Cazuelas coming to Fox Point in early June

The West Allis-based Las Cazuelas Chilaquiles & Taco Bar is planning to open a second Fox Point location in early June, according to village documents.

The new restaurant will take over the space of Jose’s Blue Sombrero at 8617 N. Port Washington Road in the Riverpoint Shopping Center. Jose’s had occupied that location for over a decade before it closed in October 2025.

The family-owned business has been operating at its first location in West Allis location for around a year and a half.

The menu will be the same as at the West Allis location at 6738 W. Greenfield Ave. It will include tacos, chilaquiles, margaritas, homemade sauces, tres leches and Mexican Fish Fry on Fridays.

But there will be something completely new at the Fox Point location: live music on a spacious outdoor patio on between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, according to village documents.

Regular business hours will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, from 9 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The restaurant will offer dine-in, carry-out, and private events with a maximum occupancy of 200 people.

Brown Deer 7 Brew to open late Summer or early Fall

Brown Deer’s new 7 Brew is set to open in late Summer or early Fall, Brown Deer’s Community Development Director Nate Piotrowski told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The new drive-through retail building will be at at 4380 W. Brown Deer Road, adjacent to the new Village 43apartments at the northeast corner of Deerbrook Trail and Brown Deer Road.

7 Brew primarily offers coffee, and other bold, flavorful drinks available at the drive-thru or the walk-up ordering spot. The inside of the building is generally for staff to prepare orders. The business was founded in 2017 in Arkansas, according to the business’ website.

The operator of the new Brown Deer location has had all its zoning and site plan approvals in place since March 16, when the village board unanimously approved a development agreement.

The franchise operator, Milbrew Holdings, LLC, also runs nine other Wisconsin 7 Brew locations, including in Brookfield, West Bend, Green Bay, Appleton, Racine and Kenosha. Eight more are in development, including in Glendale, Neenah, Sheboygan and Milwaukee.

Hours of operation will be from 5:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Acronym Brewing Co. coming to Fox Point in 2026, bought by founder of New Barons co-op

The owner of the Milwaukee-based New Barons Brewing Cooperative is planning to open a new brewery and taproom in Fox Point by the end of 2026, according to village documents.

The new Acronym Brewing Co. will occupy the vacant property at 8000 N. Port Washington Road that formerly held the old Northpoint Service Center Gas Station on the northeast corner of Bradley and Port Washington, according to village documents.

Degroote, a Fox Point resident, has been hosting the Fox Point beer garden in partnership with the village since early 2022.

Degroote’s plans were aided by a village board decision in early 2025 to encourage redevelopment along the Port Washington Road commercial corridor by adopting the Port Washington Overlay Zoning District, which made development easier in the area, according to village documents.

The new brewery space will take up roughly 1,700 square feet, and the indoor taproom will cover roughly 2,000 square feet.

There plans do not include a commercial kitchen, but they do have space for a semi-permanent rotation of food trucks along the west facade, facing Port Washington Road. Village documents also mention of plans for live music.

The brewery will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the taproom will be open 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
