Whether you’re looking to kick back with live music under the Florida sun, browse local vendors for fresh finds or indulge in a few seasonal treats, there are plenty of reasons to get out and explore the Daytona Beach area this weekend.
From outdoor concerts and evening fireworks, to food truck rallies and farmers markets featuring petting zoos and family-friendly activities, the calendar is packed with ways to make the most of the days ahead.
If you’re still finalizing your weekend plans, here are a handful of events worth penciling in across the Volusia-Flagler region.
Summer Concert Series continues at Daytona Beach Bandshell
The Star Spangled Summer Concert Series continues on June 6 at the Daytona Beach Bandshell with “Southern Cross & Bad Moon Rising: Tributes to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Creedence Clearwater Revival.”
The venue opens at 5:15 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:15 p.m.
General admission is free, and you can bring your own chair. VIP reserved seating is available for $15, which includes a chair. After the concert, there will be fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
No outside alcohol is allowed, and no dogs are allowed. Service animals are permitted but must remain with their owner and be leashed or tethered, unless due to some special circumstance.
The concerts are rain or shine, but umbrellas are prohibited. Ponchos can be purchased on site.

Enjoy food trucks, music and art in Daytona Beach
People looking to get out and enjoy the scenery might look to Daytona Beach, where art galleries and food trucks will be open for an event on June 5.
The Downtown Daytona Nights Food Truck Rally, an event held on the first Friday of each month, will feature food trucks and music from 5-9 p.m. on Magnolia Avenue in Daytona Beach, according to the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Entry is free.
Also on June 5, a series of art galleries will be open, mostly on Beach Street, for the First Friday Art Walk. The art walk will begin at 5 p.m.

Get a ‘sweet taste’ of summer at Palm Coast’s Watermelon Festival
The Palm Coast Farmers Market will bring a different, sweet summer flavor to the European Village.
The Watermelon Festival is coming to the venue on June 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Aside from all things watermelon (including ice cream), the event will feature live music, a petting zoo and bounce house for the kids, several local vendors offering food and drinks and more.
The European Village’s brick-and-mortar businesses “will also be joining in to help make this an unforgettable community event!” organizers said.
The event is open to the public. The European Village is located at 101 Palm Harbor Parkway.

Party like a nerd at One Daytona

If that whets your musical appetite, consider this free show at Victory Circle in One Daytona starting at 6 p.m.
We can’t guarantee the Spazmatics, an Orlando-based “chain” cover band, will perform these songs, but they promise “feel-good” party music in “Revenge of the Nerds” costumes.

Enjoy music, storytelling and more at Barberville Pioneer Settlement
It’s jamming time June 6 at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement’s Jamming at the Settlement event.
The Settlement, with local and regional historically significant buildings and a historical “village” setting, comes alive with historical musical entertainment, living history demonstrations, and Florida vendors.
The weekend event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement, located at 1776 Lightfoot Lane in Barberville.
Visitors can savor delicious eats from the Summer Kitchen, including the Settlement’s world-famous BBQ and hot dogs. There will also be storytelling. Visitors can gather at the Storyteller’s Stage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tales that bring history to life.
According to the Settlement’s website “spinnin’ yarns has been at the heart of our festivals and school field trips.”
Tickets are available at the gate for $10 per person.
