On Monday, the Los Angeles Rams traded away two-time Pro Bowler and 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse in a deal that sends 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to Southern California.
Upon learning about the trade, Verse, a fan favorite in Los Angeles, took to social media to say goodbye.
“Thank you for everything LA,” Verse wrote in his post on Instagram.
During his time with the team, Verse put together 12 sacks, 124 total tackles, and 22 tackles for loss in 34 career regular-season games. In six playoff appearances, Verse has three sacks and six tackles for loss. Verse was one of the most consistent pressure-generators in the NFL, and his impact on the locker room was a driving force behind the success of the defense in the post-Aaron Donald era.
Verse is entering the third year of his rookie deal, and as a result of the trade, the Cleveland Browns will have an opportunity to open contract negotiations with Verse as soon as next offseason.
